Sustainability & Social Value Policy

Social Sustainability

Creating Equity

  • Provide technology and information that creates equity for those with disabilities, neuro-differences, and cognitive, physical or mental health challenges.
  • While we continue to learn and improve, we are committed to embedding accessibility into business operations (e.g. providing online events with subtitles and slides in advance, alt-text and appropriate colour contrasts added to all images).
  • Include more companies with a shared social aim at events to provide a wider range of speakers and products - providing actionable knowledge as well as demonstrations.
  • Commit to improving the accessibility of our products at each development sprint.
  • We are registered with the Government Disability Confident Scheme as being Disability Confident Committed.  Certificate number DCS045273.

Environmental Sustainability

TechEdology Operations

  • Reduce the carbon footprint of staff commuting to our offices by adopting hybrid working (3-days in the office).
  • Where possible procure refurbished IT equipment over new;  reducing overall carbon footprint and landfill waste. Sell off or donate old equipment to reduce landfill waste
  • Phase out single use tableware to reduce waste.
  • Reduce energy usage within our offices e.g. electricity and heat (better insulation and turnoff when not in use.)
  • Recycle paper, cardboard, plastics, batteries, printer cartridges.
  • Carbon offsetting for staff travel to external events.

TechEdology Events

  • Reduce the carbon footprint of the company by carbon offsetting the travel of staff, attendees and exhibitors for TechEdology events globally.
  • Limited food and printed collateral waste by confirming attendance of delegates before each event.
  • Continue to provide online events.
  • Consider using venues offered by social enterprises/charities, not-for-profit and education settings.

Product Development

  • Inspiration: commit to providing an offline app that requires minimal energy.
  • Inspiration: commit to providing perpetual licensing  (one off purchase) to maximize product longevity.
  • Aim for net zero for our cloud based IT infrastructure by the end of 2026.
  • While AI can be utilized alongside Inspiration to augment thinking skills and productivity, we will not integrate AI into the product itself, to minimize energy requirements.

Sales & Marketing Activity

  • For entry into new international markets, shift focus from carbon-intensive trade shows to data-driven digital outreach for initial market engagement.
